I made this layout for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge to use memorabilia on a page. I saved the tag from Lizzy's dress and tucked it under the bottom group of leaves. I only used two pieces of patterned paper from my April kit; everything else came from my stash. The leaves and birds are new from Prima. Doilies are ancient along with the title acrylic. I made the layered flower by punching three flowers from an old library book. (Bought at the used book sale.) I painted the doilies to make them stand out. Pearls, punches, paint and ink from Stampin' Up! The background paper is also SU. I painted it platinum. There you have it.
I got the idea for this layout from one I saw on Color Combos Galore. I have always admired people who make beautiful layouts with layers and layers and lots of bling. My layout is a rather blatant copy of this one by Maiko Kosugi. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but now that it's done, it seems a little over the top to me. I think I prefer my simpler way of scrapping. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

So beautiful. Love the leaves and the overall elegance of this layout.
I love this gorgeous layout. I love all the layers, the beautiful elegant colours and the elements you have used. I love that you included the tag from the dress (don't think I even had a tag :-( )
gorgeous layout.
Oh, I think this is just darling! So perfect for the dress the way you embellished it elegantly. I like it better than the original layout!!!! I would have never guessed this isn't your normal way of scrapping! I love it! xoxo
I like the layers and the way the line of lights in the photo adds to the blingy look. Think the tag and scatter of embellishments is perfect for the subject - such a precious moment. :)
Like your page she looks incredible
I love that you used the tag from the dress. And she looks beautiful, the layout too!
