Hand Made Flower Fun!

Yesterday the girls at Counterfeit Kit Challenge posted a tutorial that Gabrielle made for making your own flowers. Gabrielle's flowers were amazing and I knew I was going to be making my own. I got out my Vagabond, felt, buttons and bits of fabric. That part was fun all by itself, but after a while, I knew I had cut out too many and should probably get serious about putting some of them together.

I picked a few pieces that would match the colors in my June Counterfeit kit and put these flowers together:

I love the crooked purple ones - they will give some page a touch of whimsey.

Next, I dug into my box of trim and made a flower out of this fun striped piece that's been hanging around for way too long:

Finally, I decided to make some crocheted flowers. I had found a pattern that was like some Prima flowers I had just bought (and actually put in my June kit) and knew I could make my own. I have a bunch of crochet cotton so I got to work and here is what I came up with:

By the time I got to the orange and pink flowers, I was whipping them out in about 30 minutes.

All together that's a nice bunch of flowers! And the best part is that I didn't have to go out and buy them! The second best part is that I'm using up my stash - not just scrapping supplies, but felt, buttons, thread, fabric, etc. This hoarding has got to stop!

Thanks for looking and leaving a comment so I will know you were here.
