It's the fifth of May at long last. I've been waiting all week for the girls at Counterfeit Kits to reveal the kit of the month. They chose the May kit from Work in Progress Kits. I saw two kits on their blog. The first one was really bright and happy and fun. I loved it. But the second one was softer and more feminine and beautiful. Knowing what photos I have waiting to be scrapped, I opted for the Mother's Day kit.
This lovely kit is filled with pinks and greens and has a frilly, girly, slightly vintage feel to it. Just yesterday I received the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! and saw that it was going to be the perfect start to my May kit. After rummaging through my stash, I came up with this:
I really tried to make a small kit, but in the end decided to put everything I wanted in right from the start. It would only end up there anyway. That's not to say that I won't add more as the month rolls along. In fact, what's that I see? More ribbon, LOL! I found some really pretty papers in my stash that coordinated beautifully with the SU papers - they have the same tone and feel and are a good match. I couldn't resist adding the lace and doily laser-cut papers. I've been hoarding them too long - time to use them up!
After I had my papers chosen, I added five gallons of embellishments. Basically, I pulled everything that color coordinated and had the same soft, feminine feel.
And while I was digging these alphas surfaced, so I tossed them into the mix.
Good thing I had all this stuff in my stash. I could never afford to buy this kit! I can hardly wait to start scrapping.
Thanks for looking and leaving a comment.

Tricia we are sisters I promise! I love it! I always have big kits, I just get going and pull pull pull then later on I pull some more! LOL! Can you imagine how much a kit like this would REALLY cost? LOL!
Your kit looks beautiful. Love all the embellishments. Im excited to see what you create.
YUM! This an awesome kit!! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
I think I am going to follow your lead and counterfeit the "mother" kit. I have no little boys, and my 3 daughters are in high school and college, so I see using the pink/greens a whole lot more than the primary little kid theme. Love your kit, and thanks for the inspiration to make the other May kit.
I love this kit you put together! I can't wait to see what you do with it. I am going to get started on my kit tonight!
What a great idea. I did look at that one kit too!
I do have a little grandson though, so thought I had better put the may original kit to good use on his photos...
A girl after my own heart, 5 alpha sets!
This is spot on! It's better than the original kit!!!!
Have a great time scrapping! xoxo
I love your kit it's so beautiful and feminine. I have a huge kit too x x

I like that you added so many alphas to your kit - I think they really help set the tone. Enjoy playing with that really big kit!
I've started on a Mother's Kit as well, but now that I've seen yours I think I might just pull a bit more stash! It's all amazing!
This is so pretty! Everything looks wonderful together! And now I want more alphas in my kit ahhaha :)
Love the soft feel of your kit and that's a yummy bunch of embellishments you've included! You're right - we could never afford to buy amazing kits like these!
