Happy and Scrapping

I am trying out a new kit - JBS Mercantile. It is so beautiful and I wanted to do it justice, so I went to the gallery and looked at some of design team's layouts. This one is pretty much a lift with added embellishments. While I was reorganizing my stuff the other day I came across these glitter transparencies that I had forgotten about. This one is perfect with this paper. This page was so fun to put together, I love it. I carefully trimmed the paper on the left to include the 'New York' circle!

This one is a pretty blatant lift but so be it. I did add some embellishments and changed the background paper. I love this picture from Lizzy's things. What a great shot of the missionaries walking away and the Jewish man coming toward camera. This little black and white photo was part of the kit and was the perfect accompaniment to Lizzy's photo. I started this one on white CS and when I reached for it, this transparency fell off the shelf. I had tucked it away and forgotten about it. (Can you see a theme here? Hang on, it continues!) I love the outside swirls and the way my circle fits inside it. Just when I was about to despair over a title, it occurred to me that the most significant thing about these photos is the different clothing they are wearing. How clothing sets us apart and tells our story to onlookers! I am really happy with how this one came out.

When I was fumbling with the little transparency, I noticed this full page transparency. Goodness, what a perfect fit for a sister missionary! I had some random pictures of Lizzy with her roommates and companion that didn't really go with anything else, so I grouped them strategically under the transparency here. I added the flowers from the SU pretties kit to attach the transparency. This layout touches my heart! It seems silly because this is not about my life, but I was a little choked up as I put this together and was thinking about my daughter and the relationship she has with the other missionaries and how some of these relationships will probably last for years if not a lifetime. Sisters means so much in this sense. These girls are one in purpose and they are family for this time while they are all away from home. I wonder if this has occurred to her yet. A very simple layout but it has a lot of meaning.
