Customer Service

This is going to be a little rant. Not long ago I purchased a bike from WalMart. The bike was on sale for a good price and it was the perfect bike for me. The very nice man at the store put it together for me early in the morning so that I could pick it up at noon. He practically bent over backward to help me.

Fast forward. I've been riding my bike nearly every day and found early on that the gears are not shifting the way they should. I had DH look at them but he didn't really know enough about them to make them any better. Realizing that WalMart isn't exactly a bike shop, I called a Schwinn shop today to see if they would adjust the gears for me. The guy at the shop asked where I bought the bike and I told him WalMart. He said it would cost me at least $50.00 and added, "That's what you get for buying a bike at WalMart!"

I hung up and called the next bike shop on my list. This man was so nice and friendly, he didn't care that I bought my bike at WalMart. He gave me directions to his shop and offered to adjust my gears for no more than $20.00. I called the first shop back and said, "I'm taking my business elsewhere. That's what you get for being rude!"
